Product Overview
Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP, CaHPO₄, 18-21% P, 30-34% Ca) is a calcium phosphate supplement primarily used in animal feed as a phosphorus and calcium source, and as a pharmaceutical excipient in tablet manufacture. DCP is the most widely used inorganic phosphate in global animal nutrition, essential for bone development, energy metabolism, and milk production in livestock. Dongkwang Poland supplies feed-grade and pharmaceutical-grade DCP from European producers, meeting EU feed additive regulations and pharmacopoeia standards.
How Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP) Works
DCP provides phosphorus and calcium in bioavailable forms for monogastric animals (poultry, swine) and ruminants. The dibasic calcium phosphate dissolves in gastric acid, releasing Ca²⁺ and HPO₄²⁻ for intestinal absorption. Phosphorus bioavailability is 80-90% in poultry, making DCP one of the most efficient inorganic P sources. The calcium-to-phosphorus ratio (~1.6:1) closely matches the physiological requirements of most livestock species.
Key Benefits
Application Guide
Animal feed: 1-3% inclusion rate in complete feed depending on species, production stage, and dietary phosphorus requirement. For layer hens: 1.5-2% in feed to support eggshell formation. For broilers: 1-1.5% for rapid skeletal development. For swine: 1-2% during growth phases. For dairy cattle: 50-80 g/head/day as mineral supplement. Pharmaceutical: per formulation specification as tablet excipient or calcium supplement.
