Product Overview
Potassium Humate is a soluble humic acid salt derived from leonardite or lignite, containing 60-70% humic acid and 8-12% K₂O. As a soil conditioner and biostimulant, potassium humate improves soil structure, cation exchange capacity (CEC), nutrient retention, and microbial activity. Dongkwang Poland supplies both shiny flake (high-purity) and powder forms produced from European-sourced leonardite. With the EU Biostimulants Regulation 2019/1009 formalising the category, potassium humate is experiencing rapid demand growth as farmers seek to complement mineral fertilizers with soil health inputs.
How Potassium Humate Works
Humic acids are complex organic macromolecules with abundant carboxyl and phenolic functional groups that chelate metal cations, increase CEC, and stimulate root exudate production. Potassium humate improves phosphorus availability by preventing fixation with Ca and Fe, enhances micronutrient uptake through chelation, and stimulates soil microbial populations by providing a carbon substrate. The potassium component contributes directly to plant K nutrition.
Key Benefits
Application Guide
Soil application: broadcast 20-30 kg/ha granules or flakes and incorporate. Fertigation: dissolve 2-5 kg per 1,000L irrigation water. Foliar: 0.5-1% solution (5-10 g/L). Seed treatment: 1-2 kg per ton of seed. Can be combined with NPK fertilizers to enhance nutrient efficiency — apply at every fertilization event for cumulative soil improvement. Most effective in sandy, low-organic-matter soils.
Ideal For
Storage & Handling
Store in dry conditions away from direct sunlight. Non-hazardous, non-toxic. Shelf life: 36 months for dry forms, 24 months for liquid. Avoid mixing concentrated solutions with calcium fertilizers (precipitation may occur). Standard PPE for handling.
