How UAN Solution 28% Works
UAN solution contains approximately 50% urea-N, 25% ammonium-N, and 25% nitrate-N (for UAN 32). This triple nitrogen profile delivers three release speeds: nitrate for immediate uptake (hours), ammonium for medium-term (1-2 weeks), and urea for sustained release (2-4 weeks after hydrolysis). The liquid form allows precision application through GPS-guided variable-rate sprayers, optimising nitrogen placement based on yield potential maps.

Application Guide
Apply 150-400 L/ha depending on target N rate and solution concentration. For winter wheat: 200-300 L/ha at GS25-31 (tillering to stem extension). For maize: 250-350 L/ha pre-plant incorporated or side-dressed at V6. For oilseed rape: 200-250 L/ha in early spring. Can be dribble-bar applied to reduce leaf scorch, or boom-sprayed in dilute solutions. Tank-mixable with most herbicides and fungicides — confirm compatibility.

Storage & Handling
Store in HDPE or mild steel tanks (not aluminium, copper, or galvanised steel). UAN is mildly corrosive — maintain tank integrity inspections. Non-hazardous for transport below 32% concentration. Shelf life: 12 months in sealed tanks. Freezing point varies: UAN 28% freezes at -18°C, UAN 32% at -2°C. Protect UAN 32% from freezing in winter.
