Product Overview
Potassium Schoenite (K₂Mg(SO₄)₂·6H₂O), commercially known as Patentkali, is a triple-nutrient mineral fertilizer containing 25-30% K₂O, 10% MgO, and 17% S. Naturally sourced from evaporite deposits, schoenite delivers chloride-free potassium combined with magnesium and sulphur — three nutrients frequently co-deficient in intensive cropping systems. Dongkwang Poland supplies granular Patentkali-type products from European mines, ideal for magnesium-demanding crops like maize, potato, sugar beet, and fruit trees.
How Potassium Schoenite (Patentkali) Works
Schoenite is moderately soluble, releasing K⁺, Mg²⁺, and SO₄²⁻ over 3-6 weeks. The magnesium component is critical for chlorophyll synthesis (the central atom in chlorophyll molecules) and carbohydrate metabolism. The sulphur fraction supplies the fourth major nutrient increasingly deficient in European soils since the reduction of atmospheric SO₂ deposition. Combined delivery avoids the antagonistic effects that can occur when K and Mg are applied separately from different sources.
Key Benefits
Application Guide
Apply 200-400 kg/ha as basal dressing before planting. For potatoes: 300-400 kg/ha pre-planting. For sugar beet: 250-350 kg/ha at sowing. For maize: 250 kg/ha at planting. For fruit trees: 150-250 kg/ha annually in early spring. Can be blended with NPK fertilizers. Spread with standard centrifugal equipment.
