Product Overview
Polyhalite (K₂Ca₂Mg(SO₄)₄·2H₂O) is a naturally occurring mineral containing four essential nutrients — potassium (14% K₂O), calcium (17% CaO), magnesium (6% MgO), and sulphur (19% S). Mined in a single geological deposit, polyhalite requires no chemical processing, making it one of the most sustainable fertilizer raw materials available. Dongkwang Poland distributes polyhalite from the world’s largest deposit in North Yorkshire, UK, providing European and global buyers with a multi-nutrient, organic-certifiable, low-chloride fertilizer input.
How Polyhalite Works
Polyhalite is a slow-release mineral that dissolves gradually over 4-8 weeks, providing sustained nutrient availability throughout the growing season. The crystal structure releases K⁺, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, and SO₄²⁻ ions as soil moisture penetrates the granule. This gradual release profile reduces nutrient leaching losses by up to 50% compared to conventional soluble fertilizers. The calcium component also improves soil structure and reduces aluminium toxicity in acid soils.
Key Benefits
Application Guide
Apply 200-400 kg/ha as basal dressing before planting or incorporate into soil during tillage. For potatoes: 300 kg/ha at planting. For cereals: 200 kg/ha at sowing. For oil crops (rapeseed, sunflower): 250 kg/ha pre-sowing. For pasture: 150-200 kg/ha annually. Can be blended with NPK fertilizers or applied standalone. Granular form compatible with standard spreaders.
Ideal For
Storage & Handling
Store in dry conditions under cover. Polyhalite is non-hazardous, non-flammable, and non-corrosive. Shelf life: 36 months in original packaging. Low dust formulation for comfortable handling. Standard agricultural PPE (gloves, dust mask) recommended for bulk handling.
