Product Overview
Our Mycorrhizal Inoculant contains a blend of Glomus intraradices and Glomus mosseae — the two most effective arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species for agricultural and horticultural crops. Mycorrhizal fungi form a symbiotic network with plant roots, extending the effective root system by 10-100x through microscopic hyphae that explore soil pores inaccessible to roots. This dramatically improves phosphorus uptake (25-40% increase), water absorption, micronutrient acquisition, and drought tolerance. Mycorrhizae are estimated to be involved in 80-90% of all plant species’ nutrient uptake in natural ecosystems.
How Mycorrhizal Inoculant (Glomus spp.) Works
AMF hyphae penetrate root cortical cells, forming characteristic arbuscules (tree-like branching structures) where nutrient exchange occurs. The fungal mycelium extends far beyond the root zone, accessing phosphorus, zinc, copper, and water from soil micro-pores too small for root hairs. In exchange, the plant provides 4-20% of its photosynthetically fixed carbon to the fungus. A single plant can be connected to millions of meters of fungal hyphae — creating a vastly expanded nutrient acquisition network. AMF also produce glomalin, a glycoprotein that improves soil aggregate stability and carbon sequestration.
Key Benefits
Application Guide
Seed coating: apply 5-10g granular inoculant per kg seed. Transplant dipping: 50g per liter of slurry, dip roots before planting. In-furrow: apply 10-25 kg/ha in the planting row for direct root contact. Nursery: incorporate 100g per cubic meter of potting substrate. Root contact is essential — broadcast application without incorporation is ineffective. Avoid high phosphorus fertilization at planting (>50 ppm soil P) as this suppresses mycorrhizal colonization.
Ideal For
Storage & Handling
Store in cool, dry conditions (<25°C). Granular carrier maintains spore viability for 18+ months when sealed. Do not freeze. Avoid prolonged temperatures above 35°C. Check spore count verification on batch label before use.
