Product Overview
Cotton Fertilizer Blend (15-10-15 + 0.5% B) addresses cotton’s acute boron sensitivity — the crop where micronutrient deficiency has the most dramatic yield impact. Boron deficiency causes square (flower bud) shedding, reducing boll retention by up to 40% and devastating lint yield. The balanced 15-10-15 NPK ratio supports both vegetative frame development and reproductive boll loading, while the elevated potassium strengthens fiber quality parameters that determine market grade: micronaire, staple length, and fiber strength. Deployed across US cotton belt, Indian cotton zones, Uzbek irrigated cotton, Brazilian cerrado, and West African cotton corridors.
How Cotton Fertilizer Blend Works
Boron (0.5%) is essential for pollen tube growth — without it, pollen tubes cannot elongate to reach the ovule, causing fertilization failure and square/boll shedding. Cotton’s B requirement peaks during flowering when 60-70% of total boron uptake occurs over just 3-4 weeks. The balanced NPK provides nitrogen for vegetative canopy (15% N), phosphorus for root support and early square initiation (10% P₂O₅), and potassium (15% K₂O) for fiber quality — K is a direct determinant of micronaire (fiber maturity/fineness) and staple length (fiber length), the two parameters that set lint price.
Key Benefits
Application Guide
Apply 350 kg/ha at planting (banded beside the row) and 200 kg/ha at first square stage (~40 days after planting). For irrigated cotton: split further with 100 kg/ha at first flower for sustained B supply during peak flowering. Monitor petiole B levels — maintain >20 ppm during flowering. Compatible with Mepiquat chloride growth regulator programs. Avoid excessive nitrogen that promotes rank vegetative growth and delays maturity.
Ideal For
Storage & Handling
Store in dry conditions. Shelf life: 24 months. Apply precise rates — boron has a narrow optimal range and toxicity can occur at just 2-3x recommended rates. Calibrate applicator carefully.
Why Choose Dongkwang Poland?
Our cotton blend includes 0.5% boron — the highest B rate in any compound fertilizer on the market. Standard blends with 0.02-0.1% B are insufficient for cotton’s concentrated flowering-stage demand. Independent field trials show 15-25% boll retention improvement versus B-free fertilization.
