Cucumber Fertilizer Blend (14-10-22 + 0.3% B) is optimized for the rapid vegetative growth and continuous fruiting cycle of cucurbit crops. Cucumbers are among the fastest-growing vegetable crops — a single plant can produce 20-40 fruits in a season with harvest every 2-3 days at peak production. This extreme productivity demands equally intense nutrition, particularly potassium for maintaining cell turgor pressure (fruit crispness) and boron for pollen viability and fruit set. The 0.3% boron is especially critical for parthenocarpic greenhouse varieties where even slight B deficiency causes misshapen or hollow fruit.

The high potassium content (22% K₂O) maintains osmotic pressure in cucumber fruit cells, ensuring the crisp, juicy texture that consumers demand. K also prevents the accumulation of cucurbitacin compounds (bitter flavour) by promoting sugar transport over defence compound synthesis. Boron (0.3%) is essential for pollen tube growth and fruit set — even in parthenocarpic varieties, B is required for normal cell division during early fruit development. The moderate nitrogen (14%) supports the rapid leaf production needed to fuel continuous fruit growth, while phosphorus (10% P₂O₅) maintains root health under heavy harvest loads.
