How Corn Fertilizer Blend Works
Corn’s nutrient uptake follows a predictable sigmoid curve: minimal during V1-V5 (establishment), exponential during V6-VT (grand growth), and declining after silking (reproductive). The 16% nitrogen drives rapid leaf area expansion during the critical V6-V12 window when yield potential is being determined by ear row number and kernel count. Phosphorus (8% P₂O₅) maintains root activity for nitrogen capture efficiency. Potassium (12% K₂O) strengthens stalks against lodging — critical for mechanical harvest — and drives starch deposition in kernels for maximum test weight.
